Summio is an AI reading companion for the web and iOS. It turns eligible catalogue books, public YouTube videos with usable transcript context, compatible public articles, and compatible text-based PDFs into structured summaries. Choose the depth, chat with the summary and available source context, and save eligible summaries in your signed-in library.

01
The reading crisis

Why we built it

A crowded reading list starts with one question: what deserves attention next? A summary helps you choose.
— Summio editorial

Reading did not get harder — life got louder. Between a new release and the next deadline, most of us lose the thread. Hours become obligations, months become years, and the pile of half-started books keeps growing.

Summio is built for readers, not as a replacement for the original. It turns supported book metadata, public videos, compatible articles, and text-based PDFs into structured summaries, helping you understand the main ideas and decide which source deserves a closer read.

And the original work is still there, waiting. Summio summarises when you need the gist, remembers what you cared about, and helps you return to the source when you are ready to sit down and stay. Everything it does is in service of reading — not more feeds, not more scroll, just the clearest path to the idea you came for.

Four sources

Sources Summio supports

Each source follows its own eligibility rules: catalogue books, public YouTube videos with usable transcripts, compatible public articles, and text-based PDFs. Summio prepares a structured summary from the material available for that source.

  1. I

    Books

Find an eligible catalogue title by title or author, choose short, medium, or detailed depth, and read a structured summary created from the supported book information.

    Books
  2. II

    YouTube

Paste a public YouTube link. When usable transcript context is available, Summio turns it into a structured summary and makes that context available to chat.

    YouTube
  3. III

    Articles

Paste a compatible public article link. Summio prepares a structured summary from the accessible article text while keeping the original easy to revisit.

    Articles
  4. IV

    PDFs

Upload a text-based PDF up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages. Image-only scans need OCR before upload. A structured summary and available source-context chat follow; see the Privacy Policy for data handling and provider terms.

Three instruments

What Summio does

  1. I
    The Summary

Structured summaries at the depth you choose.

  2. II
    The Dialogue

A conversation grounded in source context.

“What did the author mean here?” “How does this contradict chapter three?” The chat uses available source context and shows citations when available.

    Context-aware
  3. III
    Companion

    Companion → Training

Choose a material you have already finished: a book, video, article, or PDF. Summio prepares recall questions and memory practice from the summary ideas; if you chatted about that material, Companion also uses your questions.

A short workflow

How it happens

A01

Pick the title

Eligible catalogue books · public YouTube videos with usable transcript context · compatible public articles · compatible text-based PDFs

A02

Choose the depth

Choose short, medium, or detailed depth according to how much context you need; the summary structure follows that choice.

A03

Read. Ask. Keep.

Read the summary. Chat with available source context. Save it to your library across supported devices.

A good summary does not finish the reading. It helps you decide where to begin.

Clarity at the depth you choose.
Choose short, medium, or detailed depth for the material in front of you. The goal is not a promised reading time, but a clearer route through the main ideas.
No dark patterns.
