Many academics keep a folder of bookmarked papers and conference proceedings. Summio can summarise compatible PDFs and preserve methodology, results, and limitations as distinct sections when the source structure supports it.
Read the short version, decide which papers deserve a careful read, and save useful summaries in a collection for later reference.
Chat with available document context
Upload the PDF. Ask: "What was the sample size?". "Where are the limitations discussed?". "Is the dataset publicly available?". Answers include relevant source passages or citations when available.
Use chat to navigate the paper, not as a replacement for it. Verify methods, figures, and claims in the original because AI output can be wrong.
Literature reviews
Save related papers in a Summio collection and ask comparative questions within the available collection context. Verify every finding against the original papers before using it in research.
Copy per-paper summary notes into your citation manager as a starting point for an annotated bibliography.
Cross-language reading
When the source and output language are supported, read the summary in your preferred language and return to the original PDF for terminology, quotations, and nuance.

Common questions
Is it ethical to summarise a paper instead of reading it?
Summio is a triage tool. Use it to decide which papers warrant a full read; you still read the keepers properly. Citing a Summio summary instead of the paper is not appropriate — cite the original work.
Can Summio handle equations and figures?
Results depend on the text that can be extracted from the PDF. Treat the summary as a navigation aid and inspect the original equations, tables, and figures directly.
Does Summio integrate with Zotero or Mendeley?
Summio does not currently advertise a direct integration. You can copy a summary and paste it into your reference manager's notes field.
