By accessing or using Summio through the Web portal or iOS application (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Summio is an AI-powered platform for the Web and iOS that generates summaries from eligible catalogue books, public YouTube videos with usable transcript context, compatible public articles, and compatible text-based PDF documents. The Service also provides AI chat with the summary and available source context, a community feed, collections, public sharing, and personalized recommendations.

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• Supported Web account methods include email and password or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping the credentials for the method you choose secure.
• You must provide accurate registration information if you choose to share it
• One person may not maintain more than one account
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You retain ownership of content you create, including summaries, comments, collections, and chat messages. By posting content publicly within the Service, you grant Summio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the Service.

You agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Upload malicious code, attempt to compromise the Service, or perform automated scraping
• Use the Service for spam, unsolicited commercial communications, or affiliate manipulation
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
• Generate or distribute content that violates copyright, including reproducing entire copyrighted works

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to review, moderate, or remove user content that violates these Terms.

Summaries, chat responses, and other AI outputs are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, hallucinations, or inaccuracies. AI summaries are not a substitute for reading the original work and should not be relied upon for medical, legal, financial, or other professional decisions.

You acknowledge that AI-generated content is provided “as is” without warranty of accuracy or completeness. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before acting on it.

Summio, including its original content, features, branding, logos, and functionality, is owned by Summio and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Book and video summaries generated by the Service are intended for educational and informational purposes. They do not replace the original works, and the underlying books, videos, and articles remain the property of their respective rights holders.

• Summio offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Premium and Max)
• Eligible Web purchases are processed through Stripe. Purchases made inside the iOS app are processed by Apple. The provider used for purchase is shown at checkout.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with the provider-specific terms shown at checkout.
• Manage or cancel through the provider used for purchase: App Store subscription settings for Apple purchases, or the Web billing portal for eligible Stripe purchases.
• A trial, when offered, may convert to a paid subscription under the terms displayed before enrollment. Cancel through the same purchase provider before renewal if you do not want the paid period to begin.
• Refund handling depends on the purchase provider. Apple purchase requests are handled under Apple's refund process. For an eligible Web purchase, contact [email protected] and review the terms shown at checkout.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice; existing subscriptions will be honored at the price you originally agreed to until the next renewal

Free accounts are subject to usage limits on the number of summaries, AI chat messages, and other resources. Paid plans have higher but still finite quotas to prevent abuse. These limits are designed to ensure fair access for all users and protect the integrity of the Service.

Attempting to circumvent these limits — through multiple accounts, automation, reverse engineering, or otherwise — may result in suspension or termination of your account.

The Service relies on third-party providers (including Firebase, Supabase, Cloudflare, Stripe, Apple, OpenAI, Google, OneSignal, AppsFlyer, Meta, and TikTok). Their use of your information is governed by their respective privacy policies, summarized in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without prior notice, if we determine in good faith that your conduct violates these Terms, harms other users or the Service, exposes us to legal liability, or is required by law. You may delete your account through available product settings, or contact support if that control is unavailable; data removal completes within 30 days.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of AI-generated content. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Summio, its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or reliance on AI-generated content — arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Summio and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) content you submit or share through the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Summio is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall first be addressed informally by contacting [email protected]. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.

If you obtained the App through Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and Summio, not Apple
• Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
• In the event of failure to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
