About Summio

Summio is an open-input AI reading companion for iPhone. Drop in a book title, a YouTube URL, a long-read article, or a PDF; get a structured summary you can read in five minutes or fifty depending on the depth you pick. Save it. Chat with it. Drill it. The library compounds — the things you read accrue into something you can search and revisit, not a pile of bookmarks you forget.

• AI summaries — books, YouTube videos, web articles, and PDFs (including scanned PDFs via automatic OCR). Four reading depths, from a 5-minute triage to a 45-minute deep read.
• Dialogue — chat with any source. Every claim points to a passage; every answer cites the original. If we can’t ground it, we don’t print it.
• Practice — spaced-repetition flashcards generated from the summaries you save. Five minutes a day to keep what you read.
• Library — your saved summaries, available offline, syncing across your devices, indexed for search and chat.

Reading is not the opposite of scrolling — forgetting is. The opposite of a thoughtful hour with a book isn’t the next book; it’s the version of you who read it last year and remembers nothing. Summio is an act of care against forgetting.

We compress sources to their essence; we don’t replace them. The original work earns the hours. A summary is for triage and recall — deciding what to read, then keeping what you read. The book itself remains the thing.

Source-grounded AI: every claim points to a passage. We refuse to print a sentence the model can’t cite. This is the difference between a reading companion you can trust and an LLM that confidently invents methodology details.

Summio is made by a small independent team — not part of a larger publisher, content network, or summary catalogue. We build it with care, ship it ourselves, and answer support from the same inbox we read bug reports in. Summio is globally available. The app is free to download from the Apple App Store and runs in 27 languages. Data may be processed in the United States and the European Union under Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers.
